Literal translation of the Greek:
Revelation 14
1 and I looked and saw the Lamb standing upon the hill Tzion and with Him one
hundred and forty four thousand having the name of their father written upon
their foreheads
2 and I heard a voice from the heaven like the voice of many waters and like
the sound of great thunder and I heard the sound of a harpist playing the harp
3 and they sang a new song before the Throne and before the four living beings
and the elders(first ones) and none were able to learn(understand) the song if
not(unless, except) the one hundred and forty four thousand redeemed from the
earth
4 These are they who have not been with wives(women) and did not defile
virgins but are they that are followers of the Lamb wheresoever He leads them,
redeemed from the first fruits of mankind of God and the Lamb
5 and in their mouth no deceit(guile) is found, but are unblemished(untainted)
before the throne of God
6 and I saw another messenger flying in the midst of heaven holding the
everlasting good news and declaring the good news to those who dwell upon the
earth and to all tribes(nations, gentiles) and tribes(clans, nations) and tongues
and people
7 saying in a great(loud) voice, fear God and give Him glory because the hour
of your judgement comes and adore(worship) the Maker of the heaven and the earth
and the sea and the water springs
8 and another messenger followed saying, it fell, it fell, Babylon the great city
because from its wine of sacrifice(wrath, slaughter) of porn(fornication) it gave
all tribes(nations, gentiles) to drink
9 and a third messenger followed him saying in a great(loud) voice, if
whosoever adores(worships) the beast and his image(idol, false god) and takes his etched mark upon his/her forehead or upon his/her hand
10 and those will drink from the wine of God's wrath, poured out undiluted in
the cup of His anger and torment in fire and sulphur before the holy messengers
and before the Lamb
11 and the smoke of their torment goes up into the ages the ages(for ever and
ever) and not have rest day and night they who adore(worship) the beast and
his image(idol, false god) and whosoever has the etched mark of his name
12 here is the patience(endurance) of the holy ones, those who keep(watch,
guard) the commandments of God and believe Yeshua
13 and I heard a voice from the heaven saying to me, write blessed(happy) are
the dead who died in the Lord from now on, yes says the Spirit, so that they rest
from their labours(troubles) and their works follow with them
14 and I looked and I saw a white cloud(mist) and sitting upon the cloud One
resembling the Son of man having on His head a golden crown and in His hand
a sharp(swift) sickle
15 and another messenger came from the temple crying out in a great voice to
He Who sat on the cloud, send(strike) Your sickle and reap(harvest) because
Your hour has come to reap(harvest) because the harvest of the earth is ripe
(matured)
16 and He Who sat on the cloud threw down His sickle to the earth and reaped
(harvested) the earth
17 and another messenger came from the temple that is in the heaven also
holding his sharp(swift) sickle
18 and another messenger came from the altar having authority(charge) over
the fire(lightning) and called crying loudly to the one holding the sharp(swift)
sickle saying, send(strike) your sharp(swift) sickle and gather in the fruit
clusters of the vine of the earth because the clusters of its grapes are ripe
(mature)
19 and the messenger sent(struck) down his sickle into the earth and gathered
the fruit of the vine of the earth and threw it down into the winepress of the
wrath of the great God
20 and He treaded the winepress under foot, away from the city and blood
came from the winepress until the horse's bridle one thousand six hundred stadia(1
stadion = 600 feet) away(distance totals to 281.6kms according to the Greek
stadion)
