No doubt a question many who have read the Bible have asked themselves. This is because many have read and not understood, in fact it is the majority of people who will call themselves christians! Most who do call themselves christians actually have never even seen the inside of a Bible to be truthful! Most say they are one because their parents say they are one when in truth none of them are! If I ask you people what you believe a christian is most who call themselves such will say, "a christian is a follower of Jesus". Others will say, "a christian is someone who follows the example of Jesus". Some call people christians when they believe the people they say it about are "good" people as they do things "right".
I'm here to tell you today that ALL those who say these things have not the first clue what the word actually means. What evidence does the Bible show us as that is God's Word and is Truth! Here the Bible calls the first group of believers gathered in Antioch christians for the first time, (KJV - Acts 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.) Now to be more accurate the KJV does not translate the Bible correctly and has many corruptions included in it by agenda so you must always be careful reading that version and any other version derived from the translating works of Erasmus! This is what the original ancient Greek records, (Acts 11:26 και ευρων αυτον ηγαγεν αυτον εις αντιοχειαν εγενετο δε αυτους ενιαυτον ολον συναχθηναι εν τη εκκλησια και διδαξαι οχλον ικανον χρηματισαι τε πρωτον εν αντιοχεια τους μαθητας χριστιανους ) which translated reads, and finding him he brought him into Antioch moreover it came to be a whole year they gathered in the Ekklesia(NOT Church) and explained to the people sufficiently to be divinely instructed the first in Antioch that were( inferred in ancient Greek)anointed disciples. The key word here is χριστιανους which means anointed ones not The Anointed One as that is Christ(Χριστός). The root of this ancient Greek word is χρίω which means to anoint.
Now reading your old testament see who were the only people to ever be anointed by God! That's right, prophets, kings and priests! Now do you remember or know of Melchizedek? Read in Genesis 14:18 and Psalm 110:4. This clearly describes Yeshua(Jesus) as He is the King of Righteousness, Melchizedek literally means Hebrew for King of Righteousness(מלכי־צדק) and in the Genesis verse you'll read He is the King of Peace(מלך שׁלם). He has no beginning nor end as you read in Hebrews chapters 5, 6 and 7. Now a REAL christian is a person who has been anointed into that order, the order of Melchizedek and it is only by the Holy Spirit that one can be anointed as such. DO NOT confuse it with baptism in the Holy Spirit nor with salvation as ALL who call on the Name of the Lord shall be saved! The baptism is also a separate matter. Learn to tell these matters apart from one another as many have lumped them into one category and of course this is due to man's teaching which is always wrong! Only the Holy Spirit can reveal to you the Truth of God, the Truth of Yeshua. It is a personal revelation guaranteed by Yeshua in John 14:26 and John 16:13.
The only requirement is that you seek Him with your whole heart and answer His call, remember Matthew 22 where the King invites guests for His Son's wedding! Many were called but few are chosen because they were too busy with living for the lusts of this world as the excuses given by the invited ones show which is why I said you must seek Him with your WHOLE heart and the Holy Spirit searches our hearts and knows that it is our whole hearts that seek God!(Jeremiah 17:10)
Now why do you think some are anointed and some are not!? Those who are have been chosen for a certain task yet to begin and that is to rule with Yeshua(Jesus) for a thousand years as His kings and priests as He is the Lord of lords and the King of kings and the Highpriest of priests. His millennium is beginning soon and will start the moment He has fulfilled His final three Feasts, Yom Teruah which is when He returns and then Yom Kippur which will be the Great Day of atonement and then the Feast of tabernacles which is to celebrate He will dwell with us and rule us for a thousand years the Sabbath Day for Him a day is a thousand years and a thousand years as a day and He is Lord of the Sabbath, He will rule that thousand years as mankind had its turn and those first six days of the week(six thousand years) were a total screw up from mankind, just look back at history and today to know that!
Now comes a warning for those unanointed that call themselves christians but are not! You are breaking the commandment of God by calling yourselves such! Which one you wonder?! This one, Exodus 20:7 You shall not bear the Name of YHVH your God in vain(or to no avail), for YHVH will not sanctify(or purify or cleanse) he who bears His Name in vain. So to you who call yourselves christians know the weight you have put on yourself, the weight of sin as if you are NOT actually anointed by the Holy Spirit you break this commandment of God every time you call yourself a christian! Now being anointed is an experience both physical and spiritual at the same time you cannot deny nor can you successfully explain it other than to say that literally the Holy Spirit of God comes over you like the warm anointing oil that ran from the top of the head downwards like Aaron when he was anointed high priest except that all the barriers that are up in your heart are broken down at that very moment and you experience the pure love of God flowing over you, it is indescribable!
Now if you have had that experience and you know that you were anointed by Him I bet you still to this day do not like calling yourself a christian!!! If you feel as I do you will still feel unworthy and let's face it we all are unworthy. God never calls the qualified, he calls those who cannot boast, those without merit so we can only ever boast in Him. So here's a plea to any who have read this and recognised they have been wrong calling themselves a christian, you can still become one by seeking Him with your whole heart and forsaking all else seek all that He has for you whatever that may be. And above all people remember this is not about salvation but it is all about election and that for a specific task to come in the near future, very near future.
